In 1990 Braun introduced the Rounded Design AB5 Alarm Clock by Dieter Rams and Dietrich Lubs. The analog AB5 with its bright yellow sweep second hand has become an icon of modern design. Dieter Rams, born 1932 in Wiesbaden, is the industrial designer most closely associated with the German consumer products company Braun and is regarded as a leader of the Functionalist school of industrial design. The last of his ten rules of design is "Good design is as little design as possible". The compact travel version of this alarm clock (Ht: 2.6". W: 2.6". D: 1.45") is made of durable ABS plastic.
